Here is a list of 3 carrier oils to improve the look and feel of your legs!

Argan Oil:

Argan Oil is cold expeller pressed from the nut of the Argan tree found only in Morocco. The oil is rich in essential fatty acids that offer deep tissue nourishment and repair to skin that looks dull and feels crepey and wrinkly – quickly transforming it into skin that looks and feels more vibrant and youthful.

Jojoba Oil:

Jojoba Oil is cold expeller pressed from the seeds of the Jojoba Bush.  The oil is unique because it behaves very similarly to the oils our own human body produces. This means that when we apply the oil to our skin, our skin can quickly absorb and metabolize it by immediately getting to work to rebalance our own oil production, and evening out our skin tone.  This leaves our skin looking energized and smooth.

Marula Oil

Marula Oil comes from pressing the Marula nut found on the Marula tree in Africa.  It has some very unique skin benefits that include strengthening the skin’s resilience, protecting the skin from environmental stressors, and energizing skin cell regeneration.

This recipe makes two 50 gram bottles for a total of 100 grams, or two 2 oz bottles

What you’ll need:

Small digital scale

Measuring cups and spoons, or glass beakers

Stirrers, either metal or glass

Small whisk

2 clean glass bottles with a pump

Blank Labels

Parchment Paper

Paper towel

25 grams (approximately 5 tsp) of Marula Oil

25 grams (approximately 5 tsp) of Argan Oil

50 grams (approximately 5 tsp) of Jojoba Oil

1 gram ( approximately 20 drops) of Vitamin E Oil

7 drops of Lavender Oil

5 drops of Ginger Root Oil

8 drops of Sweet Orange Oil

3 drops of Geranium Oil

4 drops of Ylang Ylang Oil

  • Before starting to make the recipe make sure the area where you will be blending is very clean.  That means wiping down counter spaces with rubbing alcohol and putting away any food items and extra clutter.  Once your counter space, or table top is clean, line the area with some parchment paper, pull your hair back and thoroughly wash your hands.
  • Set out your digital scale and all other blending tools so they are easy to grab when needed.
  • Bring out all of your ingredients so they are accessible.
  • Using your small digital scale, and measuring spoons, start measuring out each ingredient separately into their own beaker or measuring cup, until you have every ingredient laid out in front of you.
  • Pour all ingredients into one of your empty beakers or glass measuring cups, and stir thoroughly using your small mini whisk, or other mixing tool.
  • Once everything is well combined, carefully pour the mixture into your empty glass bottles and cap with the pump closure.
  • Make up a name for your DIY Shimmery Legs Massage Oil, and write the name and the ingredients on the label and attach them to bottles.
  • Use as often as needed!

What are the benefits of a DIY leg massage oil?

Enhanced Circulation:

  1. Leg massages are fantastic for improving blood circulation throughout the lower extremities. The gentle kneading and stroking motions stimulate the flow of blood, facilitating the delivery of oxygen and essential nutrients to the muscles and tissues. This increased circulation not only helps in reducing swelling and inflammation but also promotes faster muscle recovery and the removal of waste products.

Muscle Relaxation and Pain Relief:

  1. Tight and tense muscles can be a common complaint, particularly for those leading sedentary lifestyles or engaging in rigorous physical activities. Leg massages provide targeted relief, helping to release muscle tension, knots, and trigger points. The application of appropriate pressure techniques can alleviate discomfort, reduce muscle soreness, and enhance flexibility, allowing you to move with greater ease and comfort.

Stress Reduction:

  1. Our legs carry us through the demands of everyday life, and they often store stress and tension. A relaxing leg massage can work wonders in relieving stress and promoting a sense of deep relaxation. The soothing touch and rhythmic movements of a massage can stimulate the release of endorphins, which are natural mood-enhancing hormones that foster feelings of calm and well-being.

Improved Sleep Quality:

  1. If you struggle with sleep disturbances or insomnia, a leg massage before bed can be a game-changer. By promoting relaxation, reducing anxiety, and easing muscle tension, a leg massage can prepare your body and mind for a restful night’s sleep. The release of tension and improved blood flow to the legs can help you achieve a more relaxed state, leading to a deeper and more rejuvenating sleep experience.

Alleviation of Swelling and Puffiness:

  1. Leg massages can be particularly beneficial for individuals who experience swelling or puffiness due to various factors such as pregnancy, prolonged sitting or standing, or certain medical conditions. By stimulating the lymphatic system, leg massages can help in reducing fluid retention, promoting drainage, and diminishing swelling, thereby improving comfort and mobility.

In Conclusion

Don’t let your legs go unnoticed when it comes to self-care and relaxation. Incorporating regular leg massages into your routine can provide a host of incredible benefits, including enhanced circulation, muscle relaxation, stress reduction, improved sleep quality, and alleviation of swelling. Plus your legs will feel and look amazing!

Whether you choose to indulge in a professional massage or practice self-massage techniques at home, your legs will thank you for the rejuvenation and revitalization they receive. Prioritize the well-being of your legs, and experience the transformative effects that a simple leg massage can bring to your overall health and vitality.
